There is a category of one-place predicates, or intransitive verbs; a category also of two-place predicates, or transitive verbs; a category also perhaps of three-place predicates, and so on.
One of these is predication of a one-place predicate.
This list could include the one-place predicates 'walks', 'is white', the two-place predicates 'loves', '<', 'is heavier than', 'is divisible by', and so on.
Instead of the construction which was the predication of a one-place predicate, we would thereupon recognize three constructions: attachment of 'x', of and of *z\ Instead of the construction which was the predication of a two-place predicate, we would recognize nine constructions: attachment of 'xx', of *xy\ . . .
The one-place predicate 'walks', or better the two-place predicate of walking at a time, has given way to a different two-place predicate, relating the walking event to the walker.
